Ely Cathedral, Sunday 21st June, 5.30 p.m. Celebrate School, with Bishop David, is for everyone associated with one of our schools or who simply wants to join in the celebration in this special year for our Church in this region. Will you join in? A feature of the Service will be a presentation of banners from our schools. Maybe your school already has a banner that can be brought and paraded? Maybe it would be good to create a special banner for the occasion. We want the service to reflect something too of the richness and diversity of the schools of the Diocese. Might a couple of people (adults and children) be willing to share a few words about your school and what it’s like to belong to it? We would also like the prayers to be led by different voices from around the Diocese. They will be pre-prepared so there’s no need to worry about what to pray for! A 900th birthday is some occasion! Throughout this year there are special events to mark the landmark in the life of our diocese and it is the turn of our Schools to celebrate on 21st June. Ely Cathedral is your Cathedral. Many of our children know its magnificence well from their annual autumn schools’ days and on other occasions. But this is a day for them to bring their parents, family and friends as we share together our belonging to the 900year old diocesan family. It will be a celebration for people of all ages; Governors, Teachers and Friends are invited too! It’s easy to become involved! Who will represent your school?
